Punggol Coast Mall: Shops, FairPrice Finest, Food & Getting There
Punggol’s newest mall sits on top of Punggol Coast MRT in the Digital District: an open-air plaza, a two-storey FairPrice Finest, Daiso, Muji and a hawker centre next door.
Punggol Coast Mall is the shopping centre at the heart of the Punggol Digital District, on Punggol Way in the north of Punggol. It opened progressively from March 2025 and sits on top of Punggol Coast MRT station (NE18), with more than 120 shops and restaurants spread across several low buildings and an open-air plaza. For the northern estates it has become the everyday alternative to Waterway Point: a big FairPrice Finest, Daiso, Muji, plenty of chain restaurants, and a hawker centre next door.
Unlike most suburban malls, it is not one enclosed box. Shops line the ground and upper levels of the Digital District’s buildings, linked by covered walkways and the car-free Campus Boulevard. That makes it pleasant on a dry evening and a little more of a dash when it pours.
Getting there
Take the North East Line to the end: Punggol Coast (NE18), which opened on 10 December 2024. According to LTA, Punggol Coast Bus Interchange is integrated with the station and the mall, so you can walk from the platform or the bus berths into the mall without going far. The interchange opened on 29 June 2025 and is run by Go-Ahead Singapore.
From the town centre, it is one stop from Punggol (NE17). On the West loop of the LRT, Teck Lee (PW2) serves the Digital District too. Cyclists can follow the park connectors north from the Punggol Waterway. For bus routes and the rest of Punggol’s network, see our Punggol transport guide.
What’s inside
FairPrice Finest
The mall’s anchor is a large, two-storey FairPrice Finest, one of the chain’s newer, more tech-heavy stores, with smart trolleys that help you find items. It is the main reason many northern Punggol households now do their weekly shop here rather than in the town centre.
Daiso, Muji and everyday shops
JTC names Muji (with a café) and Daiso among the tenants, and Harvey Norman has an electronics and furniture store. Around them are pharmacies, opticians, sportswear, phone shops, banks, laundry and tuition and enrichment centres. For anything specific, check the mall’s directory before you go, as tenants are still settling in.
Restaurants and cafés
Food is the biggest category. Opening line-ups included Din Tai Fung, Jollibee, Burger King and Starbucks, plus hotpot, Korean and Japanese chains, bubble tea and bakery counters. Restaurants change faster than anything else in a new mall, so treat these as examples rather than a promise.
Community plaza
A large, tiered open-air plaza is the mall’s centrepiece. It is used for weekend performances, pop-up markets and festive events, and on quiet evenings it is simply a place to sit outside with a drink.
Food next door: Punggol Coast Hawker Centre
If you want hawker prices rather than mall prices, Punggol Coast Hawker Centre is beside the mall at 84 Punggol Way. It opened on 25 July 2025 with 40 stalls and is run by Kopitiam for NEA, with a mix of revived older hawker names and younger stallholders. Our Punggol food guide covers the stalls and One Punggol Hawker Centre in the town centre.
At weekday lunchtime the hawker centre and the mall’s food outlets fill with office workers and SIT students. Residents get an easier time before 11.30am or after 2pm, and weekend evenings are more relaxed than weekday lunch.
Opening hours and car park
As of September 2026, most shops open from around 10am to 10pm. The supermarket, restaurants, clinics and enrichment centres keep their own hours, so check the individual listing if you are going early or late. The plaza and walkways are public spaces that stay open.
The mall has a car park with its entrance on Punggol Way. Rates differ between weekday daytime and evenings or weekends, so check the mall’s listing for current charges. With the MRT and bus interchange underneath, public transport is usually the easier option.
Punggol Coast Mall or Waterway Point?
Both are useful, and many residents use both. Waterway Point is bigger and more complete: a cinema, Don Don Donki, a 24-hour supermarket and the main Punggol Bus Interchange. Punggol Coast Mall is newer and more open-air, quieter on weekday evenings, and closer for the northern estates, SIT and the business park. It also has the hawker centre on its doorstep, which Waterway Point does not.
For smaller errands, the neighbourhood centres still matter. Oasis Terraces by the waterway has a supermarket, food court and the polyclinic, and Punggol Plaza near Coral Edge LRT has a wet market.
Make an afternoon of it
- Campus Boulevard: the car-free, tree-lined street through the district, about 800 m long, links the mall with the SIT campus. It is a pleasant evening walk.
- Punggol Heritage Trail: NParks has turned part of the old Punggol Road into a walking trail with a recreated old bus shelter and history panels. More of it is expected to open by the end of 2026.
- The coast: Punggol Coast is the nearest MRT station to Coney Island, and the Punggol waterfront is a short ride away.
Our Punggol Digital District guide has a timeline of what has opened and what is still to come. Official details: JTC’s Punggol Digital District community page and LTA on Punggol Coast Bus Interchange.
