Diners filling the tables of a busy hawker centre

One Punggol Hawker Centre is on the second floor of One Punggol, 1 Punggol Drive, in the same building as the community club and Punggol Regional Library. It opened on 31 October 2022 with 34 stalls and around 700 seats, and now has about 30 stalls. After a change of operator in August 2026 it is run by Hawkermania. Together with the newer Punggol Coast Hawker Centre in the Punggol Digital District, it is where most of Punggol goes for a cheap, fast meal.

One Punggol Hawker Centre

One Punggol Hawker Centre

1 Punggol Drive, Level 2, Singapore 828629 · operated by Hawkermania for NEA

Look for the orange building on Punggol Drive, across the road from SAFRA Punggol. The food centre fills the second floor, with local staples from breakfast through to dinner. Many families pair a meal with a library visit or a class at the community club downstairs.

It is one of NEA’s socially-conscious enterprise hawker centres. Under this model, an operator runs the centre with conditions set by NEA to keep food affordable and support hawkers.

What changed in 2026

The first operator, Timbre+ Hawkers, agreed with NEA to end its tenancy early, on 14 August 2026. After an open tender, Hawkermania, a socially conscious enterprise under the Kimly Group, took over from 15 August 2026 on a contract of up to nine years.

For diners, the day-to-day changes should be small. NEA required the new operator to keep existing stallholders who wish to stay for at least two years, and to hold rents for the first year. Stallholders told reporters that footfall dropped after Punggol Coast Hawker Centre opened, so some stalls may change over the coming months. See NEA’s announcement on the new operator.

Opening hours

Each stall keeps its own hours, and some close one day a week. Breakfast stalls open early, and a smaller selection stays open into the evening. If you are coming for a particular stall, check its hours first. This is especially true during the handover period.

Make a trip of it

One Punggol is more than a food centre. Downstairs, Punggol Regional Library opened in 2023 as the largest public library in Singapore, with floors for children, teenagers and seniors. The community club runs classes and activities for all ages. A common weekend routine is breakfast upstairs, a morning at the library and a walk to the waterway afterwards. Check the NLB and onePA websites for library hours and community club programmes.

Punggol Coast Hawker Centre

Punggol Coast Hawker Centre

84 Punggol Way, Level 2, Singapore 829911 · run by Kopitiam (FairPrice Group) for NEA

Opened on 25 July 2025 in the Punggol Digital District, next to Punggol Coast MRT (NE18) and Punggol Coast Mall. It has 40 stalls, 34 cooked-food and six drinks and desserts, and about 576 seats, plus an event space for community activities.

Part of the idea was to bring back “lost and found” hawkers, well-known names that had closed or moved, and to mix them with younger hawkers. Stalls at the opening included:

  • South Buona Vista Braised Duck: a Teochew braised duck stall with about 50 years of history, which reopened here after closing in early 2024.
  • Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle: a long-running curry chicken noodle name with a loyal following.
  • Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee: a well-known name for prawn noodles fried in stock.

Hawker line-ups change, so check before you make a special trip.

Food courts and malls

  • Waterway Point: Cookhouse by Koufu is the mall’s food court, alongside restaurants, cafés and a 24-hour FairPrice Finest.
  • Punggol Coast Mall: next to the hawker centre, with more than 120 shops and restaurants, including chains, cafés and a FairPrice Finest.
  • Oasis Terraces: the HDB neighbourhood centre by the waterway at Oasis LRT has a food court, restaurants and cafés.
  • Punggol Plaza: the town’s oldest mall, on Punggol Field, with a food court on the ground floor.

Coffee shops in the estates

Like every HDB town, Punggol has coffee shops on the ground floors of blocks and in the smaller neighbourhood centres. They are often the best bet for breakfast near home or a late supper.

Like most hawker centres, One Punggol is at its busiest at weekend lunchtimes. Eat a little earlier or later than the crowd, and bring a packet of tissues to reserve a seat as locals do.

Food by the water

For a meal with a view, the Waterway Point side of the Punggol Waterway and the Punggol Settlement outlets near Punggol Point are the usual choices. Punggol Point Park itself is closed for upgrading until the end of 2027, so check which outlets are open around it.

Punggol East Container Park, a popular spot for casual dining, is closing. Its tenants were asked to leave from the end of October 2026 so the land can be returned to the state for future housing.
